For those of you that went to the last Buffalo Hop, you were in on the best swing event in Buffalo ever! And for those of you that milked it dancing at my place until 5am (!) - that was awesome! What an amazing weekend! This week, UB is back in the swing business and to celebrate that, their first monthly dance is this Saturday. Also, we have a new lindy-centric dance on the scene: Eight O'Clock Jump, hosted by Sam at the KBC tomorrow! And now, there's 3 weekly dances with Lindy, Bal, and Charleston. Welcome back UB! Everyone should try and make their Weekly Wednesday Swing Jam from 6-8. So that's Lindy Fix on Mondays, UB's Swing Jam on Wednesdays, and Eight O'Clock Jump on Fridays! This is gonna be an awesome school year! A fall class session will start up part way through the semester at UB and I'm putting together a Balboa Study Group. Details coming...

Come check out Eight O'Clock Jump, the hot new swing event in Buffalo.

Fridays from 8-11(except the last Friday of the month) you can enjoy

lessons(8-9) in classic swing styles such as East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop,

Charleston, Balboa, etc. Then from 9-11 there will be open dancing featuring a

variety of swinging music.

The lessons will be progressive on a monthly basis. The first Friday of the

month will feature a beginner lesson upon which the next few weeks will build. In

September, we are proud to offer a month of East Coast Swing\; wheras in October,

we will feature Charleston! For those who miss the first of the month, we will

offer a 20 minute crash course from 9-9:20. this will be designed to give new

dancers the basics so they can get out on the dance floor.

Beginner Jitterbug Lesson 8-8:30

This is the one and only lindy event in Buffalo and it's located just off Buffalo's famous Elmwood strip. Buffalo is finally on its way to establishing a lindy scene. For those of you who don't know, Lindy Hop is a form of swing dancing that came about in the late 20s and early 30s. It went through a resurgence in the mid to late 90s and is going strong across the US and dozens of other coutries. Swing dances featuring lindy are a very social event. Everyone dances with everyone, though it's not typicslly a dating venue. Swing is a lifestyle based on the pure joy of dance: focussed on fun. So bring your spirits and prepare to smile! Beginners are not only wanted, they are required! We need you to make this happen!

DJ'd swing music will feature Big Band, classic swing like the Rat Pack & Ella, Blues, & other popular contemporary swing music.
