The Lindy Hop, Jitterbug, Charleston, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, & Blues Dance Mailing List of Swing Buffalo (for Buffalo and the surrounding area)...

We're getting closer to the SwingBuffalo.com Anniversary Bash!  We've got plans in the works and have reserved space at the VFW Post 416.  This will be an awesome time!  They have a great floor and lots of space to rock out.

There are a number of schedule changes this week.  Note, the Balboa Study Group & the SwingBuffalo.com Organizational meetings are both postponed until a yet determined date after Thanksgiving.  Rob & Arlette's and Sam & Kate's classes this Sunday have both been moved because we're attending the PittStop Lindy Hop Exchange in Pittsburgh this weekend.  So Rob & Arlette will be teaching their last Basic Swing class on Tuesday at 7 pm and Sam and Kate will teach their last Intermediate Lindy Hop class combined with the 8OJ lesson on Friday.  Also, UB's Wednesday dances are on hiatus until next semester because the students will be going home for the winter break.

The PittStop Lindy Hop Exchange is in Pittsburgh THIS WEEKEND!  You don't want to miss it!  8OJ is tomorrow.  Alex René will be belting out tunes on Saturday and Lindy Fix will be a blast on Monday!

Beginner Jitterbug Lesson 8-8:30

This is a great lindy event in Buffalo and it's located just off Buffalo's famous Elmwood strip.  Buffalo is finally on its way to establishing a lindy scene.  For those of you who don't know, Lindy Hop is a form of swing dancing that came about in the late 20s and early 30s.  It went through a resurgence in the mid to late 90s and is going strong across the US and dozens of other coutries.  Swing dances featuring lindy are a very social event.  Everyone dances with everyone, though it's not typicslly a dating venue.  Swing is a lifestyle based on the pure joy of dance: focussed on fun.  So bring your spirits and prepare to smile!  Beginners are not only wanted, they are required!  We need you to make this happen!

DJ'd swing music will feature Big Band, classic swing like the Rat Pack & Ella, Blues, & other popular contemporary swing music.

Lesson taught by Rob & Kate.
