Happy Holidays to all you swingin' cats out there! Note that there is no Thursday Night Swing Out this week due to the holiday. Also, there will be no SwingBuffalo.com Organizational Meeting. Lindy Fix is on though. We'll be there dancing up a storm tonight. Sorry for the late email this time around. I've been too busy christmas shopping! Balboa Study Group will meet Friday night this week at my place. Kudos from SwingBuffalo.com to Sam Copeland for taking 2nd place in a competition at a recent Lindy event! Way to go Sam! We knew you could do it!
Upcoming classes: Note, in the end of January, we will be launching an organized effort to coordinate a series of about 6 classes both at UB and in the Buffalo community. This will head up an effort to extend and expand SwingBuffalo.com. We are sponsoring more events, stepping up advertising, bringing in live bands, and setting up more larger monthly dances. We have now 4 pairs of instructors and we will all be working hard to bring up the level of Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, and Jitterbug in the Buffalo area! This is going to be a sweet year!

Beginner Jitterbug Lesson 8-8:30
This is the one and only lindy event in Buffalo and it's located just off Buffalo's famous Elmwood strip. Buffalo is finally on its way to establishing a lindy scene. For those of you who don't know, Lindy Hop is a form of swing dancing that came about in the late 20s and early 30s. It went through a resurgence in the mid to late 90s and is going strong across the US and dozens of other coutries. Swing dances featuring lindy are a very social event. Everyone dances with everyone, though it's not typicslly a dating venue. Swing is a lifestyle based on the pure joy of dance: focussed on fun. So bring your spirits and prepare to smile! Beginners are not only wanted, they are required! We need you to make this happen!
DJ'd swing music will feature Big Band, classic swing like the Rat Pack & Ella, Blues, & other popular contemporary swing music.
