Hi Guys - I just received this one. I don't like to spam everyone more than usual, but this might brighten some seniors' lives. Below is an email forwarded via a ballroom mailing list conveying a request for dancers at a retirement home dance. They will have a live band which will be playing some swing music. I encourage everyone to come out and show our seniors a good time. A few of us just last Wednesday were saying how we should organize an event at a senior center, so it's like they were reading our minds!

Subject: Dinner Dance at a retirment community
Hello,
My name is Monica Zabielski, I am the Creative Arts
Coordinator at Fox Run at Orchard Park, a continuing
care Retirement Community. We are celebrating our
Grand opening this month with a Dinner Dance for our
residents.
My past experience in this field has shown me that
sometimes a Dinner Dance at a retirement community
is difficult because many of the residents are
widowed and feel that they have lost their dancing
partner. This bought me to the idea of inviting
ball room dancers to the dance so that the residents
could enjoy watching and perhaps the dancers could
ask some of the interested residents to dance as
well.
I found your organization on the Web when I searched
for ball room dancing in Western New York and I had
no idea if this may be something that your members
may be interested in .
Our dance is on Thursday April 24, 2008 from 7:30-
9:30pm we will have Carol McLaughlin and his 6
piece band performing swing and standards. I would
love to hear if this may be of interest to some of
your members and/ or any ideas you may have.
