A Mid-SummerNight's Swing is this Saturday. Don't miss the first public debut of Queen City Swing's new routine "Jumpin' Jive"! It definitely jumps! This month's dance is a benefit for the Gowanda Flood Victims, so bring your non-perishable food, cleaning supply, and clothing donations. Now that the summer heat is passing, Lindy Fix is getting even bigger! Start gearing up for Swing Buffalo's first annual Workshop Weekend! It's only two weeks away now. You'll get a sneak preview of the festivities on WIVB channel 4 at 7pm on September 10th when they air the "Curtain Up! Preview Show". Since we will be a part of curtain up, watch for some of your favorite dancers on TV that evening! You may have seen that we are looking for people to house the out-of-towners. Please respond to that email if you can put a dancer on your couch for the weekend. Also, don't forget, if you wish to sign up for a limited pass, which includes all dances and a select number of classes, please respond to this email to arrange it.

Beginner Jitterbug Lesson 8-8:30

This is the lindy event in Buffalo and it's located just off Buffalo's famous Elmwood strip. Buffalo is finally on its way to establishing a lindy scene. For those of you who don't know, Lindy Hop is a form of swing dancing that came about in the late 20s and early 30s. It went through a resurgence in the mid to late 90s and is going strong across the US and dozens of other coutries. Swing dances featuring lindy are a very social event. Everyone dances with everyone, though it's not typicslly a dating venue. Swing is a lifestyle based on the pure joy of dance: focussed on fun. So bring your spirits and prepare to smile! Beginners are not only wanted, they are required! We need you to make this happen!

DJ'd swing music will feature Big Band, classic swing like the Rat Pack & Ella, Blues, & other popular contemporary swing music.
