There still may be rides available if you decide at the last minute to attend the largest Balboa event in the world. It's only about a 3 and a half hour drive which makes this one of the cheapest national events you can go to, so why not?! Zoë and I will be driving down tonight after her class and into the wee hours. We'll have a hard time with the early morning level test! Stompology is the following weekend. If you don;t go to ABW, then there's no excuse not to go to Stompo! Broaden your swing experience. You'll wish you'd done so sooner. Note also, if you maintain swing dance events on facebook, you can easily sync them with google calendar and share the subscription link with Swing Buffalo so that your events automatically get into this email! Beginner Jitterbug Lesson 8-8:30
This is the lindy event in Buffalo and it's located on the up-and-coming Grant Street area. Buffalo is finally on its way to establishing a lindy scene. For those of you who don't know, Lindy Hop is a form of swing dancing that came about in the late 20s and early 30s. It went through a resurgence in the mid to late 90s and is going strong across the US and dozens of other coutries. Swing dances featuring lindy are a very social event. Everyone dances with everyone, though it's not typicslly a dating venue. Swing is a lifestyle based on the pure joy of dance: focussed on fun. So bring your spirits and prepare to smile! Beginners are not only wanted, they are required! We need you to make this happen!
DJ'd swing music will feature Big Band, classic swing like the Rat Pack & Ella, Blues, & other popular contemporary swing music.
