Great
Lindy Fix last night! It was a lot
of fun. We had a snowball dance at
the end for Laura's birthday which was the first time I've ever called one. We had a number of new faces and a
number of faces who are starting to be regulars whose dance skill is markedly
improving! If you didn't come last
night, you really missed out. Next
week is the Lindy Fix Face-Off.
Come cheer on your favorite dancers or come compete yourself for a
prize. Sam and I are each
contributing a respectable sum for whatever Sam decides to pick up this
week. Everyone has a chance to win
despite skill level, because we have a beginner division, so I encourage
everyone to give it a shot. Who
knows, you could walk out of lindy fix with much more than you came in
with! Why not?

is a cool, fun class! It will move
at a good pace, but Arlette and I will try to make sure everyone gets personal
attention.
This
6 class series for beginners is the first of 3 class series' Arlette and I are
planning for the winter/spring.
This class will be a prerequisite for Intro to Lindy (yet to be
planned). We will cover frame and
connection concepts while learning Jitterbug steps in lindy style. Bring light shoes or sneakers,
preferably with leather soles or taped soles (so they can slide on the
floor). Put your hair up and wear comfortable
non-restrictive clothes that won't get caught up in the connection.

Jack n' Jill competition is a fun and wacky way to show off all your moves!
Basically, leads and follows sign up for the competition individually (hence,
no partner required!). Leads and Follows are paired up randomly and they dance
to a few songs, rotating partners along the way. Sam Copeland is organizing
this competition and if I remember correctly, I believe he's decided that this
will be a crowd-judged competition, but don't take it seriously. This makes it
an opportunity to ham it up and go wild! The crazier you are, the more the
crowd will love you despite your skill level. Though this is also a great
chance to show off everything you've been learning in all the recent classes:
Jitterbug & Charleston at the Newbie level and Lindy Hop at the Pro level.
