Lots of great band gigs with opportunities to dance at the bottom of this email! If you have the opportunity, the UB Swing Club will be manning a table and dancing to get new members at the SISH expo tomorrow from 1:15pm-2pm in the lobby of the student union on North Campus in Amherst. If you're free, you should stop by and dance so that we can entice more students to dance! And don't forget, Buffalo Bals on April 9th. We will be having international Balboa Champion Valerie Salstrom teaching a day of Balboa classes with the Tin Roof Jazz Band playing at the dance that night. This will be a very affordable way to get into Balboa.

This is the lindy event in Buffalo and it's located on the up-and-coming Grant Street area. Buffalo is finally on its way to establishing a lindy scene. For those of you who don't know, Lindy Hop is a form of swing dancing that came about in the late 20s and early 30s. It went through a resurgence in the mid to late 90s and is going strong across the US and dozens of other coutries. Swing dances featuring lindy are a very social event. Everyone dances with everyone, though it's not typicslly a dating venue. Swing is a lifestyle based on the pure joy of dance: focussed on fun. So bring your spirits and prepare to smile! Beginners are not only wanted, they are required! We need you to make this happen!
DJ'd swing music will feature Big Band, classic swing like the Rat Pack & Ella, Blues, & other popular contemporary swing music.
