Buffalo Hop is BACK! We're starting off this season with a Spring Swing Dance and this first one (next weekend) will be a regional lindy convergence event! Dancers from a couple neighboring scenes will be in attendance in an effort to make Buffalo a hub connecting lindy hoppers from Canada and those closer to central New York. If you would like to help make our first monthly dance of the year be all it can be, show up at Rob's place (respond for details) at noon this Saturday. We'll all have lunch and then spread out in teams across town to put up some of the great flyers that Alaina made. If you can't join us, download a copy of the flyer from swingbuffalo.com and put it up somewhere. Also, keep memorial Day evening free for a great vintage-military themed Lindy Fix on the Road! And, TOMORROW, carpool to Rochester for this month's Groove Juice Swing!

Beginner Jitterbug Lesson 8-8:30
This is the lindy event in Buffalo and it's located on the up-and-coming Grant Street area. Buffalo is finally on its way to establishing a lindy scene. For those of you who don't know, Lindy Hop is a form of swing dancing that came about in the late 20s and early 30s. It went through a resurgence in the mid to late 90s and is going strong across the US and dozens of other coutries. Swing dances featuring lindy are a very social event. Everyone dances with everyone, though it's not typicslly a dating venue. Swing is a lifestyle based on the pure joy of dance: focussed on fun. So bring your spirits and prepare to smile! Beginners are not only wanted, they are required! We need you to make this happen!
DJ'd swing music will feature Big Band, classic swing like the Rat Pack & Ella, Blues, & other popular contemporary swing music.

On behalf of Storm Buffalo, a choreography company owned by Tom Radon, that hosts dance events to support local charities, on August 7th, they will be hosting an event to benefit Women and Children's Hospital.
The events consist of a day of dance clinics including but not limited to ballroom, african dancing, hip hop and more. The evening concludes with a professional show where the instructors for the day perform.SwingBuffalo has been asked to provide some instructors for this event.
