Want to incorporate Shorty George or Suzie Q's into your Lindy or Jitterbug? This Memorial Day Monday is the time to learn it! To celebrate Memorial Day, we will be hosting a special event: "Vintage Jazz", featuring instruction on a series of vintage jazz moves. Summer is swinging in and Lindy Fix is the place to be on Monday nights. We had a huge turn-out last Monday and we plan to have as big a turn out this Memorial Day for Vintage Jazz as we did last Memorial Day for Shim Sham Jam. Swing Schoolhouse is also now a regular class: every month begins a new 4-week progressive session. It's an excellent place to improve or learn Lindy for the first time. The next week is a big week. Thursday Night Swingout and Balboa Study Group are going on and the following Saturday, Buffalo Hop is BACK in its new location: the Brounshidle! Come ring in the summer at all these great events.

Beginner Vintage Jazz Lesson 8-9

This is the lindy event in Buffalo and it's located just off Buffalo's famous Elmwood strip. Buffalo is finally on its way to establishing a lindy scene. For those of you who don't know, Lindy Hop is a form of swing dancing that came about in the late 20s and early 30s. It went through a resurgence in the mid to late 90s and is going strong across the US and dozens of other coutries. Swing dances featuring lindy are a very social event. Everyone dances with everyone, though it's not typicslly a dating venue. Swing is a lifestyle based on the pure joy of dance: focussed on fun. So bring your spirits and prepare to smile! Beginners are not only wanted, they are required! We need you to make this happen!

DJ'd swing music will feature Big Band, classic swing like the Rat Pack & Ella, Blues, & other popular contemporary swing music.
