People will KNOW you're having a good time, because you'll have all the moves and finesse of the best dancers out there. You can preregister for Intro to Awesome and SAVE. We're running a pre-registration special: $35 for 6, 1hr classes! Plus, you get $4 off your Lindy Fix entry for the duration (with the preregistration discount, that's $31 total you save!). And note, Lindy Fix usually only costs $4 unless we have a band, so most times, you'll get in free! Beginner Jitterbug Lesson 8-8:30
This is the one and only lindy event in Buffalo and it's located on the up-and-coming Grant Street area. Buffalo is finally on its way to establishing a lindy scene. For those of you who don't know, Lindy Hop is a form of swing dancing that came about in the late 20s and early 30s. It went through a resurgence in the mid to late 90s and is going strong across the US and dozens of other countries. Swing dances featuring lindy are a very social event. Everyone dances with everyone, though it's not typically a dating venue. Swing is a lifestyle based on the pure joy of dance: focussed on fun. So bring your spirits and prepare to smile! Beginners are not only wanted, they are required! We need you to make this happen!
DJ'd swing music will feature Big Band, classic swing like the Rat Pack & Ella, Blues, & other popular contemporary swing music.

Hello Everyone,
Hope this message finds you well and enjoying your autumn. Thanks to everyone who could make it out to our house concert last week! We left the next morning to perform at NERFA (Northeast Regional Folk Alliance Council) for an enthusiastic audience of musicans and industry professionals. It was a very fruitful & fun time for us to perform, network & meet other musicans making great acoustic music!
We wanted to let you know of a very unique concert event taking place this Sunday November 20th. Rarely do we ever see a Ukulele concert in the Buffalo area.
Stuart Fuchs, Lead Guitarist & Ukulele player in Babik will be presenting a concert entitled "A Brief History of the Ukulele: The Life & Times of a Four Stringed Underdog". He will be accompanied by the Gyspy Jazz stylings of Babik, featuring our good friend the great Dr. Jazz on Clarinet & Saxophone.
In this concert you will hear music played and sung with the Ukulele ranging from Jazz, Vaudeville, Ragtime, Blues, J.S. Bach, The Beatles, and even a few tunes from Brazil!
This concert is FREE and open to the public. It will be the LAST TIME Babik will be performing in the Buffalo area until well into the year 2012. The concert will be videotaped and someday released as a DVD, so please come out & cheer your way onto the footage.
Hope you can make it & bring a few friends with you! The Montante Cultural Center is a beautiful renovated Church that is always a great venue to see live music.
