New discount for the UB workshops! Non-students will be reaping the benefits of instructors not having to pay a venue rental! The price for non-students has been reduced from $50 to $30 for 2 Saturdays (That's $15 per Saturday which includes 4 classes spanning 5 hours and a practica)! You won't get this price off-campus, so take advantage of it by coming to the Charleston workshop this Saturday at noon in the Flag room in the Student Union on North Campus! (Note the change of the start time and: there was a typo in the student price in the last email - note the student price below...)

Beginner Jitterbug Lesson 8-8:30

This is the one and only lindy event in Buffalo and it's located just off Buffalo's famous Elmwood strip. Buffalo is finally on its way to establishing a lindy scene. For those of you who don't know, Lindy Hop is a form of swing dancing that came about in the late 20s and early 30s. It went through a resurgence in the mid to late 90s and is going strong across the US and dozens of other coutries. Swing dances featuring lindy are a very social event. Everyone dances with everyone, though it's not typicslly a dating venue. Swing is a lifestyle based on the pure joy of dance: focussed on fun. So bring your spirits and prepare to smile! Beginners are not only wanted, they are required! We need you to make this happen!

DJ'd swing music will feature Big Band, classic swing like the Rat Pack & Ella, Blues, & other popular contemporary swing music.

Lesson taught by Rob & Sylbie.
